Hypocrisy

I've just realized that I live in a world full of hypocrites.

I watched the Tudor during last weekend and see how evil human is. You cannot differentiate which is friend and which is enemy. Your enemy can be your friend when you have the same purpose, and your friend will be your enemy when you have a different purpose.

That's politics, but then I see, it's not only in politics, but also in our daily life, we cannot tell which is our friend and which is our enemy. This may not apply to everyone but I think for most people who work in a middle and large size company this happens quite often among co-workers.

In a company there are always people who thinks they have larger authority than they are actually granted, people who always want to manage things in their way while they are not appointed as managers, people who thinks they can run the company or other departments better than the bosses, people who talks too much but when asked to take action they just talk furthermore, people who have been in the company too long that they create a kingdom complete with their followers, servants and ass-lickers.

I call them "a thorn in the flesh".

They're not really harmful, cos they actually can do nothing as long as we do our job well. They're just plain annoying.

Then there are the "criminals".

They steal from the company, they have foul mouth that slander whoever gets in their way, they lobby the bosses to give orders or regulations that beneficial for them, they do anything to make their way up or have whatever their purposes are.

These people need to be avoided & handle with cautiousness, they can get you fired for the slightest reason.

Also, just like in schools, in companies you will find "ganks", though they will refuse to be called that, but the nature of the group is quite similar. There can be fights (but not physically) between groups, going out together during lunch or out of office hour, telling secrets or personal or work problems between one another, gossiping about people outside the group.

So, it really take a wise person to lead a company. Of course the main purpose of a company is to yield profit, but the process can be disrupted if the employees cannot work as a team. In some cases, disputes between employees can affect the performance of the company, as a whole, to yield profit. Not to mention the time needed to reconcile, it's a waste of time and resources.

My suggeston is, pick your employee carefully, the smartest people are not always the best employees. Skill and knowledge can be learned. I will consider honesty, kindness, gentleness, humbleness, willingness to learn to be more valuable than intelligence.

As an employee, I tend to be careful and not trust anybody too easily. Of course I will interact with them, just not too close and limited only during office hour.
